| Courtney’s journey into the fitness industry began with her participation in athletics. She began her life’s pursuit as a young soccer player, continuing to play the sport straight into college. While working towards her bachelor’s degree in Biology at Bryn Mawr College, she worked in the Athletic Training room with female athletes of all sports, which helped develop her passion for physiology and biomechanics. After graduating from college, she worked in New Jersey at a commercial fitness facility as a personal trainer and aerobics director. Realizing that general fitness lacked much of the credibility and scientific training base to which she aspired, Courtney returned to school to obtain a master’s degree in Kinesiology. While completing her M.S. at West Chester University, she became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Upon completion of her M.S., she moved on to work at a sport- specific training center in Pennsylvania. Not only did she continue her work with the general fitness population, she had the opportunity to work with professional and collegiate-level athletes from all sports on running technique, body control, strength, power, and sport-specific drills. She also helped kids and teenagers become better athletes, and stay healthy and injury-free. Currently, Courtney has her own in-home personal training business, working on a daily basis with women and men of all ages and abilities. She also continues her work with athletes, training mainly at the high school level, in a variety of sports at a facility in New Jersey.
